They fought over food, he hated the small ethnic places she loved, and no one would SEE him there. She hated to be SEEN in the clubs, her clothes not up to standard, the GC girls skinnier and cooler than she. But they talked, and they danced, and she sang while he laughed. They forgot that they fought about food. Dan bought more red wine and forgot that Laura didn’t know about the importance of being seen, Laura drank more white wine and forgot that Dan didn’t know about detention centres.
The sex was quiet and she found herself wondering if she could open the balcony door more to let the sea breeze in.
